For the first time, the ISC Cloud Conference is offering attendees an Amazon Web Services tutorial on launching high performance computing clusters in the AWS Cloud. The presenter, Dougal Ballantyne, is a HPC solutions architect at Amazon Web Services. This workshop is free-of-charge for attendees.
This AWS-sponsored workshop will held from 9am to 12pm on September 29, 2014, giving attendees a good introduction to cfncluster, a framework for launching HPC clusters on AWS. Along with the introduction, there will be walk-through of the core functionality and how and why specific AWS services are used. Learn not only the benefits of EC2 for cluster computing, but also many of the other services in the comprehensive platform that take advantage of automation, deployment, metrics, auto scaling, availability and durability at scale.
This workshop is designed to help new and existing users understand how to leverage AWS services to build and deploy scalable and self-healing clusters for many types of workloads.
As the venue has a limited seating capacity, ISC highly recommends pre-registration by e-mailing program_cloud@isc-events.com. The pre-registration will be based on first-come first-served policy.
