TRENTON, New Jersey (AP) – Amgen Inc.’s next chief executive officer said on Jan. 9 he expects revenue to grow in 2012 as sales pick up for some recently launched products and the company expands operations overseas.
Chief operating officer, Robert A. Bradway, is to succeed current chief executive, Kevin Sharer, in May as head of Amgen.
Bradway, who also has served as Amgen’s president since 2010, was named on Dec. 15 to succeed Sharer, who will retire on May 23. The company also said Roger Perlmutter will retire as head of research and development on Feb. 13. He will be replaced by Sean Harper, chief medical officer and head of global development.
Amgen has plans to expand its operations, now in about 40 countries, to 75.
