Bayshore Networks, a leading provider of internal application firewall technology engineered to protect critical applications from advanced and internal threats, today named Andres Andreu Vice President, Engineering and Chief Architect, responsible for research and product development and software engineering for Bayshore’s flagship SingleKey? internal application firewall and Bayshore SCADA Firewall?. Highly-respected and recognized within the Information Security industry, Andreu brings to Bayshore 17 years of hands-on, dynamic, security-focused enterprise and web application architecture and engineering experience. Andreu will report directly to Bayshore Founder and Chief Executive Officer Francis Cianfrocca.

Prior to joining Bayshore, Andreu served as Chief Technology Officer at neuroFuzz Application Security, where he was responsible for various web application and web services penetration testing projects, including numerous classified projects dealing with internal rogue resources and malware initiatives. Before neuroFuzz, Andreu served as Partner/Chief Architect at Ogilvy & Mather, where he provided management and leadership of a globally dispersed web/application engineering staff for more than 10 years.
Prior to Ogilvy & Mather, Andreu served as IT Engineering Director at The Princeton Review, and before that, Andreu held IT and security leadership positions at a U.S. Federal enforcement and intelligence agency. At the agency, Andreu was responsible for one of the largest Title III Interception Operations within the continental United States. His work was recognized internally on multiple occasions for outstanding performance.

Andreu specializes in software, application, and web services security, working with XML security, TCP and HTTP(S) proxying technology and strong encryption. He has strong technology experience, including: LDAP, Web services (SOA and SOAP and more), enterprise applications and application integration.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the American College of Computer and Information Sciences (now Sentinel University). Andreu also earned his Certified Information Systems Security Professional and CISSP-ISSAP (Information Systems Security Architecture Professional) designations in 2004 and 2005, respectively. In 2009, Andreu was recognized by Computerworld as one of 100 Premier IT leaders, cited for ‘executing on bold, high-risk decisions.’
Andreu has authored several publications: Professional Pen Testing for Web Applications (Wiley/Wrox Press, July 2006, ISBN: 0471789666), Fuzzing XML (Hackin9 Magazine, May 2007), and Cracking LDAP Salted SHA Hashes (Hackin9 Magazine, March 2008). Andreu served as Technical Editor for Webster’s New World Hacker Dictionary (Wiley, ISBN: 0470047526), and his research has been published by SANS and OWASP.
Cuban-born, Andreu is a happily married father of four children, fluent in Spanish, and a Judo instructor/coach with national certification from USA Judo.
