B&K Precision Corp. announced today the acquisition of Teknix S.A., a service and calibration company based in São Paulo, Brasil. Under the new name of B&K Precision Brasil, the subsidiary company will become B&K Precision’s headquarters for South American operations. Antônio Freitas, who founded Teknix S.A. in 1999 will continue to serve as the manager of calibration and service operations of B&K Precision Brasil.
“With this acquisition, our company is laying the grounds for continued growth in the South American market. To better support our expanding customer base in Brasil and other South American countries and to understand their specific needs, it was important for us to establish our own operation in the region. This will allow us to provide the same level of service to our distributors and end user customers in South America as our US and other international customers are accustomed to,” said Victor Tolan, president and CEO of B&K Precision.
B&K Precision Brasil will directly import products from B&K Precision’s manufacturing sites, and continue selling B&K instruments via an authorized distributor network. The subsidiary will provide local service and support for B&K Precision instruments, and continue to operate as an authorized third party service and calibration center.
