Agilent Technologies Inc. this week announced that the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Mass., has become an early adopter of its new Encore Multispan liquid-handling system. The system unites advanced liquid handling and robotic integration for true sample-to-analysis automation.
The Broad Institute will be the first to take advantage of the capabilities of this instrument to develop automated solutions for a variety of high-throughput genomics workflows.
“Agilent’s Encore Multispan system will complement and enhance our current capabilities in liquid handling,” said John Stalker, manager of automation and engineering, Genomics Platform, Broad Institute. “With its integrated robotic arm and Iron Python scripting, it will enable a robust, dynamic LIMS-integrated DNA/RNA quantification and normalization workstation for our samples team, which processes tens of thousands of samples a year.”
