Information technology company Computer Sciences Corp. said Wednesday that it has acquired AppLabs Technologies Private Ltd., a software testing company, for an undisclosed sum.
CSC, based in Falls Church, Va., said the deal helps the company become a leader in service testing, which it says is a high-growth market.
Michael W. Laphen, CEO of CSC, says testing and verification play an increasingly important role as companies move to cloud-based services and adopt other new technology.
AppLabs, was founded 10 years ago and is headquartered in India. It has offices in the United States and the United Kingdom and has 2,500 employees.
Shares of CSC rose 7 cents to $28.25 in midday trading.
