EMC Isilon A100 Performance Accelerator Node

By R&D Editors | April 11, 2013

[[{“fid”:”93613″,”view_mode”:”full”,”type”:”media”,”attributes”:{“height”:232,”width”:320,”style”:”float: left; margin: 5px;”,”class”:”media-element file-full”}}]]The EMC Isilon A100 Performance Accelerator Node is designed to meet the enterprise’s ever-increasing need for speed while also providing next-generation performance for the demands of enterprise workflows and applications. Designed for demanding environments that require maximum concurrent throughput and minimum latency, its key features include 256 GB of L1 cache per node, an eightfold increase over the 32GB of RAM available previously; capability to deliver aggregate throughput of 1100 MB/s per node; and significantly accelerated cluster operations, including disk and node rebuilds, file striping and file-based replication. The nodes can hold a huge, recently-accessed dataset in memory, enabling data to be read with extremely low latency. In addition to providing the ability to scale performance independent of additional spindle capacity, the nodes also allow enterprises to significantly accelerate cluster operations, including disk and node rebuilds, file striping and file-based replication.
