Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. is laying off about 55 hourly workers at its Danville plant.
Plant spokeswoman Laura Singleton says the layoffs are effective Sept. 29.
Singleton tells media outlets that company is adjusting production at the plant.
The plant employs about 2,300 workers.
