Hamilton Storage Technologies, an affiliate entity of Hamilton Company, and Askion this week announced a partnership to combine expertise in robotic automation at ultra-low and cryopreservation temperatures.
Hamilton Storage Technologies is a leading provider in the design and manufacture of liquid handling, process measurement, robotics and storage solutions, and Askion is a partner for modular biobank system solutions to handle and store biological material at high quality standards in different sample formats at storage temperatures less than -150 C.
This partnership makes it possible to introduce the Askion C-line cryopreservation portfolio to several new markets, including North America and South America. The C-line system provides semi and fully automated storage and retrieval processes in temperatures below -100 C and features a cryogenic work area with an uninterrupted cooling chain.
“For the biobanking and clinical diagnostic industries, controlled environmental conditions are of utmost importance when storing cryogenic samples,” said Matt Hamilton, President, Hamilton Storage Technologies. “This partnership with Askion allows us to offer solutions that guarantee maximum flexibility for sample storage configuration. As Hamilton Storage Technologies continues to focus on expanding its offering, this partnership is another step in its strategic plan to provide solutions for cryobiotechnology automated sample management.”
“The Askion C-line offers a solution for the safe handling of sample material, management and cryogenic storage of biological material,” said Egon Pfeifer, Managing Director, Marketing and Sales at Askion. “This collaboration will enable Askion to extend the C-line product line to a broader geographic market.”
Hamilton Storage Technologies and Askion will be exhibiting during the European, Middle East and African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking Annual Conference, ESBB (Hamilton Storage Technologies Booth #14, Askion Booth #5) in Leipzig, Germany, October 21-24, 2014.
