Oil and gas well-drilling contractor Helmerich & Payne has named Chief Operating Officer John Lindsay as president and a board member.
Lindsay, 51, has served as executive vice president and COO since 2010, the company said Tuesday.
Lindsay has worked at Helmerich & Payne Inc. since 1987 and held various roles since that time, including operations manager for the company’s mid-continent region and vice president of U.S. land operations, for Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Co.
Helmerich & Payne, which is based in Tulsa, Okla., has 286 land rigs in the U.S., 29 international land rigs and nine offshore platform rigs.
Its shares finished at $46.95 on Monday. They have fallen 32 percent since peaking for the year at $68.60 on Jan. 10.
