Honeywell extends supply agreement with Sigma-Aldrich

By R&D Editors | January 9, 2012

Honeywell announced
that it has signed a five-year contract extension with Sigma-Aldrich, under which
Honeywell will continue to supply high-purity solvents and reagents to
Sigma-Aldrich.

Solvents and reagents are used by analytical
laboratories in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries, as
well as by universities and research and development facilities.

“The partnership of Honeywell and Sigma-Aldrich leverages the
manufacturing strength of Honeywell and the vast, global distribution network
of Sigma-Aldrich to bring customers a wide range of high-purity products for
research and development,” said Jeff Czarnecki, global business director for Honeywell’s Health Care and Packaging
business.

The new agreement extends an
existing supply partnership agreement, in place since 1999, through March 2019.
Honeywell will manufacture Riedel-de Haën high-purity solvents and Karl
Fischer reagents for Sigma-Aldrich at Honeywell’s plant in Seelze, Germany.

Honeywell will also continue to supply a range of services to
Sigma-Aldrich in Seelze, including advanced laboratory and warehouse services,
and Sigma-Aldrich will continue to provide Honeywell with shipping, forwarding,
and small package filling services at the site.
