SAN DIEGO (AP) – Genetic analysis instrument maker Illumina Inc. said that it is hiring Marc Stapley of Pfizer, one of the world’s largest drugmakers, as its chief financial officer.
Stapley will join Illumina on Jan. 20, replacing Christian Henry as CFO. Illumina said that for the last two years, Henry has been CFO and general manager of its genetic analysis business. With Stapley taking over as CFO, Henry will concentrate on the genetic analysis role.
At Pfizer, Stapley was in charge of global finance processes and systems, and he led the integration of Wyeth and King Pharmaceuticals after Pfizer acquired those companies.
