Imaging 2004 Top Products Award Winner: ApoTome

ApoTome is a 3-D imaging system for contrast enhancement in fluorescence microscopy based on innovative grid projection techniques using HBO light source. It improves clarity and performance of digital imaging workstations in neuroscience, cell and developmental biology, and can be used with fluorochromes such as DAPI, FITC, Rhodamine, GFP or YFP. To address the challenges in capturing optical sections in 2-D and 3-D fluorescence imaging, particularly of thick specimens, the slider is inserted into the field diaphragm’s plane of the fluorescence beam path of the Axioplan 2 IE or Axiovert 200 microscopes.
