Inaugural ISC Cloud & Big Data Conference to be Held in Frankfurt

By R&D Editors | February 19, 2015

The first in its series, ISC Cloud & Big Data will highlight the synergies between cloud and big data and present ways these technologies can build on each other’s strengths. The inaugural international ISC Cloud & Big Data conference is a three-day multiple-track event that is replacing the ISC Cloud and ISC Big Data conferences, which were held separately over the past five years. Taking place from September 28 to 30, 2015, the conference will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, at the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel.

The first in its series, ISC Cloud & Big Data will highlight the synergies between cloud and big data and present ways these technologies can build on each other’s strengths. Targeting IT professionals, managers, consultants, academicians and researchers involved in cloud computing or big data, its objective is to present the latest developments in performance-demanding cloud computing and big data applications and technologies for industrial and non-industrial deployment.

Industry and technology experts Wolfgang Gentzsch, Sverre Jarp and Wolfgang Nagel are this year’s program chairs and are playing an instrumental role in designing the conference tracks. The 2015 program will consist of Business, Technology and Research tracks, plus one full day of workshops.

ENTRIES OPEN: Establish your company as a technology leader. For 50 years, the R&D 100 Awards, widely recognized as the “Oscars of Invention,” have showcased products of technological significance. Learn more.

2015 Program

  • The Business Track will present diverse case studies focusing on cloud and big data implementations, designed for the industry. It will also demonstrate how emerging technologies can be beneficial to different organizations.
  • The Technology Track will cover software frameworks, virtualization models, hardware architectures, and other cloud and big data technologies. The track will be useful for those selecting and deploying cloud and big data infrastructure.
  • In the Research Track, researchers and scientists will be presented with a top selection of papers submitted to the ISC Cloud & Big Data research paper committee.

2015 Program Chairs

  • Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gentzsch is Co-Founder & President of the UberCloud Community & Marketplace.
  • Sverre Jarp is Chief Technology Officer for CERN-OpenLab at CERN.
  • Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Nagel is Director of the Center for Information Services & High Performance Computing (ZIH) at Dresdren University of Technology.

ISC Cloud & Big Data registration and price information will be available in May 2015. Visit Scientific Computing’s ISC Events page for more news and updates on the conference.
