Incubator keeps substances at or below ambient

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. introduced the Thermo Scientific Heraeus BK 800 refrigerated incubator for storage of valuable substances at, or below, ambient temperatures. With a compact footprint of 0.3 m2 and a large capacity of 220 L, this unit provides an innovative space-saving solution for the laboratory. This easy-to-use, CE certified unit has obtained best-in-class energy efficiency ratings, making it environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Providing a homogenous, stable environment with superior temperature uniformity ranging from 3 to 40°C, the Heraeus BK 800 incubator is suited for a wide range of applications, including sample and media storage, microbiological testing, and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) protocols.

With two internal electrical sockets, the Heraeus BK 800 refrigerated incubator can accommodate stirrers, shakers, and lights, as well as other equipment that can be time controlled for defined cycles. An impact-proof interior with rounded edges makes the unit easy to clean, minimizing the risk of contamination from unwanted microorganisms. All internal shelves and supports are easily removable to aid the cleaning process. The inclusion of a reversible door enables left or right handed opening and the door gaskets are simple to replace. With an easy-to-use soft touch control panel, user-friendly operation is facilitated and the unit is easy to set-up within the laboratory, using the built-in rear wheels.
