Genetix, a leading provider of solutions for imaging and image analysis, announces that Indian Immunologicals Ltd. has become the first company on the Indian sub-continent to invest in a ClonePix FL system.
ClonePix FL is used for screening and selection of secretory cell lines, and can significantly reduce the time and cost associated with recombinant protein generation. IIL will use the system to support their biotherapeutic research and development activities, and, subsequently, to help drive cost-effective manufacturing.
“IIL strongly believes that affordable and accessible healthcare can be actively pursued only with a sound platform based on modern biotechnology tools,” said Dr. V.A.Srinivasan, Research Director, IIL. “We have chosen the ClonePix FL to help us accelerate our biotherapeutic and vaccine development and manufacturing, which play an increasingly vital role in today’s healthcare systems.”
IIL produces a range of veterinary and human vaccines and biotherapeutics, and runs one of the leading research and development centers in India, focusing on innovation and improvement. IIL’s in-house R&D and process development team employs scientists from various disciplines including microbiology, biotechnology, pharmacy and biochemistry to develop novel vaccines, diagnostics, monoclonal antibodies and biotherapeutics. In addition, IIL’s manufacturing facilities at Hyderabad & Ooty in India are among the largest vaccine producing plants in the world.
