IO Informatics announces appointment of President and CEO
IO Informatics announced that Patricia A. Rougeau has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer. Rougeau has more than twenty-five years of experience in corporate management and technology leadership. For the past five years, she was the President and Chief Executive Officer of MDL Information Systems, a discovery informatics company marketing databases, discovery architecture, workflow solutions, and consulting services to the Life Sciences market. MDL is a global company wholly owned by Reed Elsevier. She became President and CEO one year after joining MDL, created a long-term vision and strategy, and led the company in five years of consecutive growth. Rougeau is experienced in partnerships and acquisitions in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Prior to joining MDL, Rougeau was with TRW for fourteen years in increasingly responsible executive positions, with experience in several markets and technology domains. She managed an organization of over 500 people and over $100M in revenue. She is knowledgeable of every aspect of technology management, from research to concept design, to development and product delivery, marketing, sales, and customer support. Prior to TRW, Pat worked at Honeywell and Sperry Systems Management.
At both TRW and Reed Elsevier, Rougeau received awards for innovation. She has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic and State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland.
IO founders and board members Erich Gombocz and Robert Stanley were actively involved in the CEO search. “I am delighted that Pat has joined us to lead IO in transforming the way people think of, connect to, and derive meaning from their data,” said Dr. Gombocz. Mr. Stanley added, “We are fortunate to have an executive of Pat’s track record and depth bring our leap-forward technology to widespread use. She immediately recognized the benefits of Sentient technology to search, analyze, link, and otherwise associate data which were previously incompatible and to build novel associations and new relationships between them.”
Rougeau replaces Todd Morrill, interim President, who will remain on the board of directors.
