Mexican Green Rattler
This photo shows a Mexican west coast rattlesnake, Crotalus basiliscus, commonly know as the Mexican green rattler. A venomous pitviper species, its name is derived from the Greek word basiliskos, meaning king, and is an allusion to this snake’s large size and potent venom.
