Moffitt Cancer Center selected Oracle Health Sciences solutions for its health and research informatics platform.
The informatics environment will support Moffitt’s Total Cancer Care program by generating new intelligence from existing systems and synthesizing data from many clinical sources and delivering accurate analyses that reveal new insight around treatment effectiveness at an individual level. Moffitt selected Oracle Health Sciences Enterprise Healthcare Analytics suite and Oracle Healthcare Master Person Index, along with Oracle Fusion Middleware components and Oracle Database 11g.
By standardizing the Oracle Healthcare Data Warehouse Foundation data model and using Oracle software, Moffitt will gain the ability to normalize, aggregate and analyze data—ranging from molecular information to patient outcomes—from internal and external sources to identify new predictive biomarkers, treatment practices and more effective therapies for individual patients.
Moffitt’s informatics environment will also help to expand the number of health systems contributing to its Total Cancer Care collection of longitudinal data and patient bio-specimens while strengthening its commitment to patient privacy and information security. Increasing the volume of data available for analysis will enable Moffitt to identify and validate targeted patient populations for cancer trials and thereby improve clinical trial efficiency and productivity.
