Utilities have restored power to most of the tens of thousands of Ohio customers left in the dark after the latest string of storms.
By Thursday morning, American Electric Power Co. had restored service to all but about 5,000 of its 36,000 central Ohio customers who experienced outages from the Wednesday storms.
Duke Energy Corp. said about 68,000 customers lost power during the storms, and about 4,000 had no electricity Thursday morning.
Dayton Power & Light said about 1,300 customers were without power due to wind and lightening hitting its transformers. Only a handful of those customers had no power early Thursday.
The outages came just weeks after a set of powerful storms knocked out electricity for hundreds of thousands of customers facing a heat wave across the state.
