PITTSBURGH (AP) – Mylan Inc. said on Nov. 28 that it is shipping a generic version of Pfizer Inc.’s drug Zinecard, which is used to treat the side effects of a chemotherapy drug.
Zinecard is intended to prevent or reduce heart muscle disease caused by the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin. Mylan began shipping the drug after getting approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company said U.S. sales of Zinecard, or dexrazoxane, totaled $3.4 million over the year.
