The Dell Precision 690 and 490 workstations feature dual-core Intel Xeon technology, scalable memory architecture and dual graphics capabilities, providing performance gains over previous models of up to 45 percent on single-threaded applications, and up to 155 percent on multithreaded applications. Features of the 690 include memory scalability up to 64 GB with DDR2 fully buffered ECC DIMMs, while the 490 offers SAS hard disk storage and a compact dual-orientation chassis.
