Reinhard Schneider steps down as Chief Information Officer of LION bioscience

Chief Information Officer Dr. Reinhard Schneider is leaving LION bioscience to pursue new challenges. Schneider is one of the founding members of LION. Before he joined the German specialist for Life-Science-Informatics in 1997, Schneider served as a scientist in the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. Schneider will continue to act as a consultant to LION.

“We all wish the best for Reinhard and his future career. Hardly anyone at LION has shaped our company as much as Reinhard has. On behalf of everyone at LION, I would like to thank Reinhard for his achievements and his support”, said Chief Executive Officer Dr. Friedrich von Bohlen. He added: “Reinhard planned this step some time ago, and now feels this is the right moment for it”. Dr. Schneider commented: “These six years with LION have been the most exciting and productive years in my career. Now LION has matured, and has reached a size that allows me to pursue new challenges in a more scientific environment.”

Going forward, LION bioscience AG’s executive board will consist of three members. Chief Business Officer Dr. Daniel Keesman is responsible for Business and Marketing. Chief Financial Officer Martin Hollenhorst is leading the division of Finance and Controlling. Additionally, Software Development continues to be led by Reiner Doelle who reports directly to CEO Dr. von Bohlen. Said Dr. von Bohlen: “During the last year, we have refocused LION, adjusted the company’s structure, and successfully streamlined our operations to meet the market’s demands. With this new organizational structure, LION is sending out a clear signal that we are refocussing on every level.”
