Sabtech Industries Appoints Michael Carter as President

By R&D Editors | August 20, 2012

Sabtech Industries, an established leader in the design, manufacture and support of tactical data communications solutions for military and government agencies, today announces the appointment of Michael Carter as President. Former President and founder, Rahim Sabadia, assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.

As a C-level executive, Mr. Carter has a 25-year history of accelerating the growth of leading military and defense, biotechnology, telecommunications, wireless, medical, industrial and consumer product companies over his career. Prior to joining Sabtech, Mr. Carter was an executive consultant leading companies in Asia, Australia, Europe and North and South America with strategic acquisitions, business development, operations development, product development and Six Sigma practices among other strategic initiatives. Prior to this, Mr. Carter was the President of Staco Systems where he was instrumental in the company’s growth as well as the development of major hardware and software communication systems and display products, implementation of cycle time reduction programs — reducing time to market by 50 percent — negotiation of international contracts and developing Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) that resulted in a 15 percent reduction in the cost of sales.

“We are very pleased to welcome Michael to Sabtech as President,” said Rahim Sabadia, Founder and CEO. “He brings to us a wealth of military and commercial industry experience and leadership that will help take Sabtech to its next stage of rapid growth and success. His military and technology prowess will be especially helpful as we take our solutions into new markets and further develop our communication systems for the military, defense, industrial and transportation markets.”

Mr. Carter started his career in the Navy where he was assigned to the Naval Ocean Systems Center (NOSC) to support the Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) program. Mr. Carter continued his career at Litton Industries, General Signal and other International Corporations where he held increasing roles of responsibility in engineering and operations.

“I’m very excited to join Sabtech and its strong management team,” said Carter. “Sabtech’s communications solutions for major combat and C4ISR systems worldwide are a true testament to the company’s high-performance design, engineering, manufacturing and support capabilities. I look forward to driving the company’s growth by leveraging core competencies to develop new technologies and enter into growth markets. Sabtech develops Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) military communication solutions at a fraction of the price of competitors and is uniquely positioned to introduce new hardware and software technology that will continue to meet this strategic objective.”
