Shimadzu Scientific Instruments introduces SeqLab de novo sequencing software for use with the AXIMA line of MALDI mass spectrometers. The software uses a high-power de novo sequencing engine, MS/MS and possible related MS/MS/MS data to help decipher peptide sequences.
With SeqLab, researchers can use MS/MS data to find high-quality de novo sequences and tags for peptides from low- or high-energy CID MS/MS data, including data from the AXIMA Performance, Shimadzu’s TOF/TOF. Additionally, SeqLab uses related MS/MS/MS data, which provides more information and completes the sequence across the length of the peptide.
The power of SeqLab is fully realized in combination with the AXIMA Resonance, the newly launched MALDI QIT TOF mass spectrometer from Shimadzu. The AXIMA Resonance provides very high mass accuracy tandem mass spectrometric data, which enhances the success of de novo sequencing.
