SGD acquires Special Gas Supplies LLC

By R&D Editors | October 21, 2011

SGD Inc., a single source wholesale supplier of specialty
gas equipment, has acquired Special Gas Supplies LLC, a supplier to compressed
gas cylinder fillers of shrink wrap, tamper-proof seals, status tags, cylinder
status neck ring discs, cylinder netting, lecture bottles, and lecture bottle
valves, and more.

Special Gas Supplies, which previously operated out of Bahama, NC, will now be
operating out of SGD’s facility in Emerson,
N.J.

Frank Scornavacca, president, says, “The addition of Special
Gas Supplies to SGD is a natural extension of our relationship with compressed
cylinder gas fillers to expand our offerings to better serve them. Of course
the users can expect the same great customer and delivery service and unique
support program that they have become accustomed to with SGD. With one phone
call, fax, or email, the customers can not only purchase their gas equipment
requirements, but also their operational supply needs.”

Scornavacca says “Supplies” will be operated as a division
of SGD Inc., but customers may either place combined product orders with SGD or
separate “Supplies” orders, whichever is more convenient for their operation.

The “Supplies” division will be directed by Scott Varian, VP
– Operations.

“This is our first acquisition, but certainly not our last
one,” says Scornavacca. “We are looking at other acquisition possibilities to
broaden our offerings to our customers.”
