SGI InfiniteStorage 17000 is a multi-petabyte storage array designed for extreme data volumes, high performance computing (HPC) and data-intensive real-time workloads. The single-platform RAID storage system features throughput of over 40 GB/s and 1.4 million flash IOPS. With the ability to scale in a single system to over 1,680 disk drives and 6.72 PB, the sytem is targeted for workflows that require uncompromised performance and scalability. Supporting up to 160 dedicated 6 GB SAS lanes, it delivers an extremely dense package to meet the needs of demanding unstructured and transaction-based environments. With FDR InfiniBand and Fibre Channel connectivity, the system is designed to fit into existing storage landscapes and easily scale file storage systems to 1 TB/s and beyond.
