The History Behind Laboratory of the Year

By MaryBeth DiDonna | January 12, 2017

For over 50 years, the Laboratory of the Year Awards have recognized excellence in research lab design, planning and construction. This annual award recognizes the best new and renovated laboratories that combine all aspects of the building into a superior working environment.

This annual international competition receives entries from the best new and renovated labs. Eligible projects represent a wide variety of lab types: research, quality assurance/control, teaching, software development, environmental, clinical, energy, forensic and testing and standards.

Prizes will be given for Laboratory of the Year, Renovated Laboratory of the Year and Special Recognition/High Honors. Judging will be conducted by a blue-ribbon panel of lab architects, engineers, equipment manufacturers, researchers and the editors of Laboratory Design.

A complete history of the Laboratory of the Year Awards, dating back to 1967, can be found here.

Winners will be recognized at the annual Laboratory Design Conference, to be held at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley in Raleigh, N.C., on April 24-26, 2017.

The entry deadline is February 10, 2017 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time). Click Here to Register and Submit an Entry
