Production Equipment Specialties, a provider of production machine repair and tooling services, has opened a climate controlled cleanroom for spindle and gearbox repair services. The new cleanroom, located in Orange, Calif., is energy efficient and has an open layout to support the rebuilding of a minimum of six units simultaneously.
The cleanroom is 40 ft. long and 22 ft. wide and is climate controlled to maintain 68 to 72°F. Access to the room is controlled to reduce the amount of dust and debris.
Tony Kendrick, President of Production Equipment Specialties, says, “The addition of a cleanroom dramatically increases our capability to repair and rebuild spindles to original OEM standards which significantly improves reliability and spindle life. The large cleanroom differentiates us from our competition and allows us to deliver a better product with reduced lead times. Also, the new cleanroom is located next to the machine rebuild bays which centralizes all of our repair facilities into one location.”
According to Jerry Anthony, CEO, “Maintaining a clean environment during the rebuilding process is paramount to the longevity of a rebuilt spindle or gearbox. Not rebuilding a unit in a cleanroom will lead to premature failure.”
