Only a Few Days Left! Speak at the 2019 Lab Design Conference

By MaryBeth DiDonna | November 13, 2018

The 2019 Lab Design Conference will be held on April 29-May 1, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Florida. The conference planning committee is seeking qualified speakers — but the deadline to apply is almost here!

Since 2002, the Lab Design Conference — presented by Laboratory Design, a sister publication of Controlled Environments — has provided a dynamic educational and networking event for those involved in planning, designing, engineering, constructing and operating laboratory facilities. Informative Keynotes, panels and sessions feature lab design experts delivering unique presentations on creating the most efficient, state-of-the-art facilities.

The Conference Chair of the 18th annual meeting is seeking qualified lab design professionals who are interested in sharing their experiences and knowledge as a member of our faculty. Potential topics include Lab Design, Sustainability, Time & Space Challenges in Construction, Current Market Trends, Engineering, Safety & Regulations, Specialty Labs (including cleanrooms!) and more.

Following last year’s record-breaking attendance in Philadelphia, the spring 2019 agenda will feature Keynotes, General Sessions and breakouts. Knowledgeable experts in various fields—including design, engineering, construction and architecture—will share their advice about how best to undertake your new build or renovation project.

The 2019 conference will also feature the return of our panel on “The Next Generation of Lab Design,” where industry professionals will discuss how to attract and retain young employees interested in the field of lab design. The Orlando show will also host Equipment & Furniture Workshops, and you are invited to submit your application to be a featured speaker for this innovative new featured section.

“The equipment and furnishings that go into a lab, whether it be new or renovated, requires superior team coordination with a wide variety of companies and organizations, and we would like to showcase those best practices in Orlando in 2019,” said MaryBeth DiDonna, Editor of both Laboratory Design and Controlled Environments.

Attendees will be invited to visit the Innovation Expo to meet with suppliers and companies to learn about new products and industry services. Opportunities will be available for all attendees to network with colleagues during breakfast and lunch sessions and multiple coffee breaks, and during the evening cocktail receptions as well.

As always, the final day of the Lab Design Conference will feature tours of exemplary lab and healthcare facilities in the Orlando area, some of which are not available to the general public. Staff from these venues, and the design firms that got them off the ground, will be on hand to discuss the background and special features of each facility. A separate registration fee for these lab tours is required, apart from the Lab Design Conference registration, and spots fill up quickly. Stay tuned to www.labdesignconference.com for details on the lab tours (and other conference details), so you can secure your place once the lab tours are announced.

The Lab Design Conference is known for its timely, compelling and original educational programming, and welcomes new participants as well as returning speakers to the faculty. Choose one of the existing topic categories—or propose your own!—and share your knowledge and experiences with your peers. Many of the Lab Design Conference sessions will also qualify for AIA credit.

Are you interested in speaking at this prestigious event? Click here for the Call for Presentations form to learn more, and to submit an application to present. Applications must be received no later than Monday, December 10, 2018. Early submissions are strongly encouraged. https://www.research.net/r/KSBFHG7?et_cid=6431780&et_rid=865347750
