Welcome to Controlled Environments’ first issue of 2018! We look forward to bringing you more original, exclusive, and exciting content related to cleanrooms and contamination control this year. Stay tuned for articles from industry experts, interviews and Q&A articles, facility profiles, and insight into the latest and greatest products for your clean facility.
In this issue of Controlled Environments, we will touch on how classification impacts the design of a cleanroom, we’ll take a look at the importance of monitoring systems, and we will gain insight into research facilities as well. Our “Regulatory Forum” column gives an in-depth explanation of what you can expect from new changes to FDA guidelines regarding electronic records and signatures in clinical investigations.
Throughout the rest of 2018, we will dive into other topics important to cleanroom facility managers and suppliers. Our March/April issue, as usual, will be dedicated to pharmaceutical-related topics in order to coincide with the annual INTERPHEX show in New York City in April.
Issues throughout the year will focus on topics such as cleanroom equipment (filters, fume hoods, ESD control equipment), different types of clean facilities (food and beverage, semiconductor, nanotechnology, biotech), and cleanroom operations (safety procedures, training techniques, critical cleaning, gowning practices).
You can also expect to see Controlled Environments’ regular features in upcoming issues in 2018 — our “Ask the Facilities Gal” and “Regulatory Forum” columns will appear in every other issue, alternating between the two. Each issue will include both “How It Works” and “Cleanroom Tips,” which are submitted by our readers.
Each issue will contain a Cleanroom Products Showcase, which will display the newest and most advanced technology in the cleanroom sector. We invite you to send us your press releases — regular product features will include monitoring systems and cleanroom apparel products, and our specialty product spreads for the year will feature products and companies that will be exhibited at INTERPHEX NYC in April and the ISPE Boston Product Show in September.
Finally, in 2018 we welcome the return of two very exciting features exclusive to Controlled Environments. The winners of our fourth annual Readers’ Choice Awards will appear in the May/June issue, so start preparing your product entries now! Watch your email and our website and social media channels for submission and voting information. The July/August issue will showcase the results of our annual Cleanroom Trends and Salary Survey, compiled from feedback collected directly from our readers. We are offering you this opportunity to let us know how you feel about your job, your compensation packages, and the work you do.
We invite you to contribute your articles, products, and ideas to Controlled Environments, and as always we welcome your feedback. Here’s to a great year!
