Looking for a live event to learn, share and network with other R&D professionals? R&D Magazine is proud to announce the agenda for the 2018 R&D 100 Conference, taking place at the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando, FL, Nov. 15-16.
For the fourth year, this leadership conference will feature top industry leaders from the R&D community who will share their ideas on innovation, technology transfer and R&D strategies that will transform the future of R&D across industries.
“We are very pleased to welcome an exciting faculty from organizations that are driving the pursuit of innovation forward, and these industry leaders will share their deep insights and strategies,” said Bea Riemschneider, Editorial Director/R&D 100 Conference Chair. “Attendees will learn about some revealing new studies, including our own Global R&D Funding Forecast, as well as cutting-edge session that are bound to invigorate their own pursuit of innovation and R&D ROI.”
This year’s conference includes three tracks— R&D Global Trends, R&D Innovations & Leadership, and R&D Technology Transfer Strategies. It features an Opening Keynote by Charles L. Colby and Gina D. Woodall, the creators of the new American Innovation Index (Aii), titled “Making Innovation Drive the Bottom-line: Success Stories from the American Innovation Index.” The Aii is the first comprehensive study to quantify and rank innovativeness as experienced by customers, providing key insight into succeeding through innovation.
The conference also features a Second Day Keynote titled, “Finding the Future: How the Best Organizations Scout Emerging Technology,” by Scott Kirsner, an author and co-founder of Innovation Leader, a Cambridge-based information service focused on helping innovators in large companies.
Other conference highlights include the “Tech Scout Relay Panel,” a unique event featuring a group of individuals associated with Technology Scouting efforts, an increasingly popular element of modern technology management. The discussion will continue the second day of the conference with “The Tech Transfer Match Sprint,” a special session which will provide hands-on examples of typical emerging technologies that form an important part of the R&D landscape and technology transfer process at many R&D institutions.
The 2018 R&D 100 Conference will also feature the highly anticipated Exclusive Preview of the 2019 Global R&D Funding Forecast (GFF) from R&D Magazine’s contributing editor Tim Studt. Studt has authored R&D Magazine’s Global R&D Funding Forecast, which offers exclusive insights into the global R&D landscape annually, for more than 25 years. The preview will be followed on conference day two with a new event, “Digging into the 2019 Global R&D Funding Forecast: Exploring Leading Strategies for Creating New R&D Budgets,” which features a panel of experts who will share how R&D budgeting trends impact their own organizations and work in the field. Looking at the executive highlights of R&D Magazine’s Global R&D Funding Forecast preview as well as their own experiences, they will dig deeper into the trends to watch.
Following the conclusion of the conference on Nov. 16 will be the 2018 R&D 100 Awards Gala, where this year’s R&D 100 awardees will be announced. With a deadline of July 2, there is still time to be considered for this prestigious awards program. Complete or start an application today!
