Opus is the most powerful Intanium system in the world. The supercomputer is more than 30 times faster, has 50 times more disk space and 10 times more memory than Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s current computer, which was on the world’s most powerful when installed in 1997. Opus is expected to be upgraded during FY2003 to 9+ teraflops with Madison processors.
