Big Data Insights: Accelerating Discovery in Medicine, Research & More

By R&D Editors | January 20, 2015

This live panel discussion looks at how big data and data science have fast become the next frontier for innovation, competition and productivity. On Wednesday, January 21, Scientific Computing will host a live panel discussion that looks at how big data and data science have fast become the next frontier for innovation, competition and productivity.

One of today’s significant advances in data science introduces us to the Next Generation Cyber Capability (NGCC) at Arizona State University (ASU).

According to ASU’s Dr. Kenneth H. Buetow, an expert in the integration and analysis of data and their application to improved patient care in the biomedical research community, “the NGCC is to data science what the Hubble Telescope is to astronomy and what the Large Hadron Collider is to particle physics.” Dr. Buetow explains that, “It’s a way for us to put our arms around these large data science problems.”

During this interactive webinar, you will hear Dr. Buetow discuss:

  • Insights and answers that allow the data itself to enable you to identify and to solve problems faced in medicine, in research, in government, in business and more
  • Special features of the NGCC and the multi-dimensional compute environment with integrated platforms that enable organizations to use big data in all its complexity
  • The implementation of Hadoop at ASU with its capabilities as a big data management and analytics architecture
  • How the solutions allow the data itself to give the insights and answers to the problems that we are facing in medicine, in research, in government, in business and more.

I encourage you to join us for what promises to be a lively and informative discussion!
