Pipeline operator Enbridge Energy Partners LP said Tuesday that the boards of its general partner and management company have a new chairman and a new director.
The company said that board member Jeffrey A. Connelly was elected chairman of general partner Enbridge Energy Co. Inc. and the management company, Enbridge Energy Management LLC, effective Monday. He was a senior executive at Coastal Corp., an energy company that was acquired by El Paso Corp.
Connelly replaced Martha O. Hesse, a former chairman of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Hesse had been on the boards since 2003 and chairman since 2007 and retired on Monday.
The company said that the change was in keeping with its corporate-governance guidelines but gave no further details and did not immediately return calls for clarification.
Rebecca B. Roberts was elected to both boards. Enbridge said that she was president of Chevron Pipe Line Co. from 2006 to February 2011.
J. Herb England, a longtime beverage-industry executive, replaced Connelly as chairman of the audit committees.
