Open Inventor DirectViz
The DirectViz extension allows Open Inventor applications to visualize 3-D scenes with very high realism and scalability by using the Real-Time Ray-Tracing engine OpenRTRT as an alternative to OpenGL. The software addresses demanding needs currently out of reach by graphics processors and OpenGL, in styling and conceptual design, virtual prototyping and visual simulation. Features include an extremely optimized ray-tracing core engine, exact per-pixel computation of shadows, physically-correct reflection and refraction even on curved surfaces, several materials libraries, a comprehensive API to extend existing applications and shaders, and transparent integration with Open Inventor scene graph and viewers.
