WedgeLink 2 software keyboard wedge now includes DDE, which quickly and efficiently passes large amounts of data to an application, as well as expanded parsing features. Users can run other applications while collecting data into Excel or other Windows applications that support DDE. Expanded data parsing capabilities allow users to handle more complex input data that is received from a device. Applications include statistical programs, spreadsheets, barcode, LIMS and more. In addition to transferring the information to the application, the software keyboard wedge also simultaneously sends information to a disk file or to the serial port. It accepts input data from an RS-232 serial port or network connections, and is typically used with such instruments as scales, barcode scanners, gages and balances.
