APE-BridgePath Scientific (ABS), a Maryland-based biotechnology company, launches the BIOmarker, its latest product in a line of Chemiluminescent reagents for protein research.
The BIOmarker was developed to solve problems associated with precise interpretation and documentation of data from assays such as western blots which have plagued researchers for decades. Using the BIOmarker, researchers can label blotting membranes, prior to probing, with what looks like to be a normal ink pen. The magic of the BIOmarker becomes evident when those assays are developed using enhanced chemiluminescent reagents, such as ABS’s SpectraQuant-HRP CL Spray. During the development of the BIOmarker-enhanced assay, reagents in the ink emit light which can be detected using standard techniques including autoradiography (X-Ray film). Researchers can then precisely align their blots to their results for accurate data analyses. Additionally, labels, visible on both membrane and results, allow accurate documentation of their experiments.
