Microsoft will buy Perceptive Pixel Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
The New York company was founded in 2006 and makes large multi-touch displays for TV broadcasters, as well as government, defense, engineering and educational markets, Microsoft said.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
Microsoft Corp. shares fell 29 cents to $29.90 in morning trading.
