The electro-elution of nucleic acids and proteins has many advantages as it avoids centrifugation, vortexing, heating and precipitation and allows minimal manipulation of samples. Electro-elution normally involves dialysis tubing, which results in extreme dilution of precious samples. However, G-Biosciences’ G-Capsule uses a gentle method that eliminates the risks of damage to DNA and protein samples.
G-Biosciences’ G-Capsule is a simple electro-elution device for rapid recovery of PCR products, DNA fragments, and proteins from agarose and polyacrylamide gels. The G-Capsule method is simple to perform and eliminates additional steps that involve washing, spinning, heating or precipitation. The recovered DNA is of the highest quality for use in molecular manipulations, such as ligation, restriction enzyme digestion, sequencing, amplification, random priming, and other enzymatic reactions.
Consisting of two parts, Gel-PICK for picking DNA or protein bands from the gel, and Gene-TRAP for trapping the migrating DNA or proteins during electro-elution, G-Biosciences’ G-Capsule elutes your sample in a final volume of about 30 µL, with recovery as high as 90%.
