Question: Do you believe that you are fairly compensated?
Answer Options | Response Percent |
---|---|
Yes | 69.2% |
No | 30.8% |
We asked our readers to explain why they feel they are, or are not, fairly compensated. Here are some of the responses.
I feel that I am fairly compensated because:
- I make good money because we make good products and the products make good money.
- While it is never enough, my wage seems to be solid for what I do and when compared to those around me.
- I own the business
- For the location and what I do I feel I am fairly compensated. If I look at the hours I work, I probably am not fairly compensated.
- Besides my salary, I get a cellphone, health insurance, and other benefits. Last year the company paid for my graduate degree.
- For the job functions I have, I am paid more than the national average.
- I work for an academic institution and even though the salary is low, there are other non-monetary benefits.
- I am able to sustain a good quality of life with my current salary and benefits.
I feel that I am not fairly compensated because:
- I am doing the job of three people due to reduction of personnel.
- I went more than 10 years without a raise.
- Management gets much, much more.
- This rate of pay is well below that usually paid to one of my technical expertise and experience, even considering the rural area.
- There is not enough profit from the business yet. All dollars are reinvested.
- Salary comparison shows me in the lowest 10% for my position.
- Since workload cannot be trended, senior management doesn’t see what is getting done.
- I work a lot more than 40 hours a week and remain on call even when I leave the facility.
