Arrowfly, the parent company of R&D World and engineering brands such as Design World, The Robot Report, EE World and Fluid Power World, today launched AI for Engineers, a year-round resource for engineers and technical leaders applying artificial intelligence in their work.
In research organizations, AI has spent the past few years moving from side project to budget line. Protein design, materials discovery, simulation and lab automation are now all areas where AI deployments are gaining traction.
The AI for Engineers initiative has four parts, including a news desk with editors covering AI inside each engineering discipline, original research, an advisory board of engineering and technical leaders, and an annual conference. It draws on Arrowfly’s network of more than 20 engineering brands, which reach 2.1 million verified industry readers, 1.6 million email subscribers and 29 million website visitors, according to the company.
The conference runs Sept. 20–22, 2027, at M Resort Spa Casino in Henderson, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas, and is expected to draw a wide range of engineers and technical leaders. Its five tracks cover engineering design and automation; medical devices and medtech; robotics; energy and electronics; and industrial operations and smart manufacturing. The program pairs keynotes and editorial sessions with pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings, and the third day closes with guided peer conversations on specific AI topics.
In terms of market research, Arrowfly is fielding the 2027 Outlook of AI, a survey spanning the same five disciplines. It asks how engineering organizations are adopting AI by function, what is working, where barriers remain and what leaders expect by 2030. The advisory board brings together engineering leaders from companies including BP, Procter & Gamble, Tesla and DuPont, along with Alex Zhavoronkov, founder and CEO of Insilico Medicine.
