Simulink is a block diagram environment for multidomain simulation and model-based design. It supports simulation, automatic code generation, and continuous test and verification of embedded systems. The MATLAB add-on provides a graphical editor, customizable block libraries and solvers for modeling and simulating dynamic systems. MATLAB integration enables users to incorporate algorithms into models and export simulation results to MATLAB for further analysis. Key features include in-canvas dials, gauges and scopes for tuning, testing and visualizing simulations; fast model update using just-in-time (JIT) compilation for MATLAB function blocks and Stateflow charts; a hardware support package targeting Apple iOS devices for creating apps that run Simulink models and algorithms; the ability to share projects via GitHub, e-mail or as a packaged custom toolbox; and SimDriveline, with Thermal variants for all blocks in the Gears component library.
