The Isoten Vacuum Roll from Webex pulls the web into intimate contact with the roll, increasing friction forces that help prevent web slippage. Nominal roll diameters range from 8 to 19.5 in and face lengths go up to 156 in. A variety of shell coatings and coverings are available to suit different applications.
Movable deckle plates adjust the vacuum zone to match variable web widths. Deckle positioning can be adjusted manually or through automated mechanics. The tungsten carbide plasma coating of standard isoten vacuum roll surfaces is a durable, all-purpose finish. Rubber (polymer compound) coatings or increased traction are available as well.
Stainless steel mesh screens or felt shell coverings are available to prevent marking of delicate webs. Stainless steel woven screens are available in thread counts per inch up to 120 x 120. Seams are helical and are manually "stoned" to present a very smooth surface to the web.
