The R&D 100 Awards Committee and R&D Magazine today announced the 2017 R&D 100 Award Finalists, marking the 55th annual R&D 100 Awards program which honors the 100 most innovative technologies of the past year. This year’s R&D 100 Awards will be presented at a black-tie ceremony on Nov. 17, 2017, at the Walt Disney World Swan Resort, in conjunction with the third annual R&D 100 Conference, Nov. 16-17, 2017. The R&D 100 Awards Finalists were selected by an independent panel of more than 50 judges representing R&D leaders in a variety of fields.
“We are honored to unveil the newest members of our elite R&D 100 Awards community as we release the R&D 100 Awards Finalists, representing excellent contributions in scientific discovery and innovative technologies from the last year,” said Bea Riemschneider, Editorial Director, ABM Science Group, R&D Magazine. “Everyone should be extremely proud of these notable R&D achievements and the teams responsible for them.”
The R&D 100 Awards have long been considered the most globally prestigious recognition of invention and innovation. These prestigious awards recognize 100 of the top innovations across five categories: Analytical/Test, IT/Electrical, Mechanical Devices/Materials, Process/Prototyping, and Software/Services. For the third year, the R&D 100 Awards Committee will also honor excellence with four Special Recognition Awards: Market Disruptor Services, Market Disruptor Products, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Green Tech.

For 55 years, the R&D 100 Awards have been presented at the R&D 100 Awards ceremony, this year to be held in Orlando. For the third year, the awards are expanded to include the R&D 100 Conference, where industry professionals will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about critical advances in technology and science and share valuable time with their peers.
