Verily secures new investment from Nvidia

Verily Health, a company focusing on AI for precision health that emerged from Google X and eventually became Google Life Sciences in 2015, has received funding from its partner Nvidia.

The company’s flagship product, the Verily Pre Platform, is a precision health platform that turns clinical, genomic and device data into AI-ready datasets. Verily’s current investors include Alphabet, Series X Capital and UCHealth.

In a statement, Verily CEO Stephen Gillett said the funding would help the company bring “together the information and intelligence needed to power better decisions and unlock the full potential of AI across the healthcare ecosystem,” Stephen Gillett, Chairman and CEO of Verily, said in a press release.

The investment will help support scaling of the Pre Platform, the company said.

Verily and Nvidia announced a collaboration in October 2025, allowing researchers using the Verily Pre Platform to use Nvidia AI libraries and frameworks, including NeMo, Parabricks and RAPIDS, Nvidia’s software tools for AI-accelerated science, and Nvidia B200 GPUs, the hardware beneath them. The companies also collaborated to create Forecast 1.0, a foundation model that integrates genomics and EHR data to improve the accuracy of predicting long-term health risks.

Verily has announced and killed off a number of projects since its creation and moved its headquarters from San Francisco to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2024. In 2014, Verily announced glucose-sensing smart contact lenses, only to put the project on hold in 2018, saying that tear glucose did not correlate reliably enough with blood glucose. In 2023, it discontinued Verily Value Suite as well as some early-stage products, including work in remote patient monitoring for heart failure. In 2025, Verily killed off its entire medical devices program.

Many of the discontinued projects were hardware or early-stage R&D with long regulatory paths and no near-term revenue in sight. Value Suite and Granular were software, but Verily was attempting to compete against well-established businesses, including Epic and Oracle Health.

There are some signals that the Verily Pre Platform could be different. Other institutions are already using the infrastructure, for one. Vanderbilt, UCHealth, CU Anschutz and RefinedScience are using the workflows.
