The NanoLIBS, a R&D 100 Award winner, device opens the door for moving atomic spectroscopy from the laboratory to the field through the balance of its compact size, performance and ease-of-use. The state-of-the-art handheld Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy instrument pushes ease-of-use and performance to a new level with its proprietary “fast pulse” technology and state-of-the-art material analysis capability. As the first and only handheld LIBS device geared toward the pharmaceutical market, the NanoLIBS offers pharmaceutical users a complementary solution to vibrational spectroscopy in conducting quick identification of raw materials. It provides a tool for identifying pharmaceutical raw materials such as monoatomic salts using minimally destructive LIBS technology, giving users a pass/fail result within seconds.
Each year for more than 50 years, R&D Magazine has honored the 100 best innovations in research and development. We are currently accepting applications for the 2017 R&D 100 Awards. Innovators with an exceptional product developed between January 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017 should apply. Submissions close April 14, 2017
