Laboratories handling perchloric acid, acid digestion, trace-metal analysis and radioisotopes can choose different chamber materials within HEMCO’s UniFlow range. The laboratory-equipment manufacturer offers specialty fume hoods with HDPE, polypropylene, PVC or stainless-steel interiors, depending on the application.
The company’s AireStream models use a molded, one-piece composite-resin chamber with rounded interior corners and a white finish. HEMCO offers air-bypass and restricted-bypass configurations, along with optional accessories and services.
Specialty models include perchloric-acid hoods with type 316 stainless-steel or PVC chambers, acid-digestion hoods with HDPE chambers, radioisotope hoods with type 304 stainless-steel chambers, and trace-metals hoods with polypropylene chambers, according to the company’s product release. The perchloric-acid chambers include the worksurface and a rear drain trough. The specialty hoods retain a composite-resin exterior structure.
Optional installation components include support cabinets, heavy-duty tables and dished worksurfaces in epoxy resin, phenolic resin or stainless steel.
