Zoosk Adds Jeff Epstein to Board of Directors

By R&D Editors | August 8, 2012

Zoosk, the romantic social network, announced today that Jeff Epstein has joined the company’s board of directors.

“Jeff’s considerable experience in cultivating successful companies as well as his ability to offer thoughtful insights will be invaluable as Zoosk continues to expand,” said Alex Mehr, co-founder and co-CEO of Zoosk. “Additionally, he brings financial and corporate governance experience that will be key as Zoosk continues its growth.”

Epstein’s experience spans multiple roles in the finance and technology industries. Currently, he is an executive-in-residence at Bessemer Venture Partners and is a senior advisor at Oak Hill Capital Partners. He also serves on the board of directors of Shutterstock and for the last nine years, the board of Priceline.com. Epstein serves on the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Stanford University Hospital and the management board of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Previously, Epstein served as the executive vice president and CFO of Oracle and was the CFO of several other public and private companies — including DoubleClick (acquired by Google), King World Productions (acquired by CBS) and Nielsen’s Media Measurement and Information Group.

“With millions of global members, Zoosk has already demonstrated an extremely strong position within the online romance industry,” said Jeff Epstein. “Shayan Zadeh and Alex Mehr have proven strong leadership capabilities, and I look forward to helping them take the company to new levels and expanding on their vision to create a place where people can create and share their romantic moments.”
